Community support
The Domestic Abuse Floating Support service is designed to help individuals experiencing or recovering from domestic abuse at any risk level, while they continue living in the community, rather than in a refuge. The Floating Support Worker will provide practical, emotional, and safety-focused support tailored to each person’s situation.
This often includes helping survivors create safety plans, offering one-to-one emotional support, assisting with housing, benefits, and legal processes, and connecting them with other services such as counselling, healthcare, or support for their child(ren). It may also include advocacy on behalf of survivors with agencies like social services, the police, or housing providers.

The aim of the Domestic Abuse Floating Support service is to empower survivors, reduce risk, increase independence, and help them rebuild stability and confidence in their daily lives. The service takes on a holistic approach, ensuring that survivors feel that they are supported in all aspects of their lives that have been impacted by domestic abuse.
